The 37th PIA Film Festival runs until September 24 at the National Film Center in Tokyo. This year’s competition lineup features eighteen short and full-length films from Japanese directors, including Igari Yuko’s The Lie and the Taint and Sasaki Kenta’s Captain Coffee is Risen. Additionally, there will be English-subtitled screenings of Ozu’s The End of Summer and Suo Masayuki’s 1984 softcore pinku film Abnormal Family: Older Brother’s Bride.
